The Palmerston Railway Heritage Museum is excited to have a table at the model rail show and sale at the Owen Sound Legion, hosted by the Community Waterfront Heritage Centre! 🚂🚃🚃 There will also be some great activities happening in Palmerston at the Minto Farmers’ Market for Fall Fun Day - celebrating Fall at the last market of the Season.🍂🍁

All Aboard Palmerston is putting on the annual TinyTrains event this September 28th, and they are looking for more volunteers!🙋‍♀️🙋🙋‍♂️ This position will require volunteers to share the information of one of the heritage plaques in the Lions Park, then share a personal story about the Palmerston railway!🛤️

On Saturday, September 10, 2016, the Town of Minto and the Palmerston Railway Heritage Committee honoured a very influential member of our community, and an essential part of the continued development of the Palmerston Railway Heritage Museum. Local history buff and champion of the Palmerston Railway Station, Bob McEachern was presented a plaque and the establishment of the R.W. McEachern Research & Genealogy Centre in recognition of his years of outstanding volunteer service and unyielding commitment to the Museum.

According to Art Carr ‘s “100 years of Palmerston”... Back in 1930 the telephone 📞 switchboard was located in the corner drug store 🏥. This was later operated by Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Wraggette...but was owned by Mr. A.J. MacDonald.
At the left is Mr. A.J. MacDonald, Miss Margaret Martin, and Mr. MacDonald’s son, Donald O. Macdonald...This is the store employees...Miss M. Heaysman (Mrs. James Morrison, now of Toronto); Miss I. Baker, (Mrs. Jack Martin, Dundas); Miss Norma Coling (Mrs. Hill, deceased); and Miss Hazel Justason (Mrs. Gordon Sinclair, now deceased).
